Lip filler

The treatment Leah is best known for, and the one most of the clinic’s reviews are about. Hyaluronic acid, placed to follow the shape your mouth already has — not to replace it with someone else’s.

Volume is the easy part. Balance is the work.

Almost anyone can add a millilitre to a lip. What decides whether the result looks good is where it goes: how much of it sits in the body of the lip and how much defines the border, whether the upper and lower are in proportion, and how the mouth behaves when you smile and speak, not just when you sit still.

That is why the first appointment is often 0.5ml rather than a full millilitre, and why Leah will suggest coming back in a few weeks to build on it rather than doing everything in one sitting. Filler that is layered over two appointments is easier to keep natural and easier to correct.

If you already have filler placed elsewhere and you are unhappy with it, that is a normal reason to come in. Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved.

Who it suits

  • Lips that have always been thin or uneven, where the ask is shape more than size.
  • Lips that have flattened or lost their border over time.
  • A top lip that disappears when you smile.
  • Anyone who wants the result to be noticed as “you look well” rather than as lip filler.

Questions clients actually ask

Lip filler questions

How much does it hurt?

Lips are sensitive, so this is the question that comes up most. Numbing cream goes on before anything else and is left long enough to take effect — rushing that step is what makes the treatment uncomfortable. Most clients describe pressure rather than sharp pain, and it is the part people most often say was easier than they expected.

How swollen will I be, and for how long?

Expect noticeable swelling for the first 24 to 48 hours, and some unevenness while it settles — that is the swelling, not the filler. By two to three weeks you are looking at the actual result. Judging your lips on day two is the most common mistake.

Can I have 1ml on my first visit?

Sometimes, and it depends on your lips. If starting with 0.5ml would give a better outcome, that is what will be recommended, even though it is the cheaper appointment. You can always add more; taking it away is a separate treatment.

What if I do not like the result?

Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved. It is not a decision you are stuck with, which is part of why it is the material used for lips. Talk to the clinic first — more often than not the issue is swelling that has not finished settling.

I have filler from another clinic. Can you work with it?

Yes, and it is a common reason for booking a consultation. Leah will want to look at what is there and how long ago it was placed before recommending anything — sometimes the right answer is to dissolve and start again, sometimes it is to leave it alone for a few months.

Book a consultation, not a treatment

A €50 consultation is thirty minutes to look at your face, talk through what you actually want and hear what is realistic. If you go ahead with treatment within two weeks, the €50 comes off the price.
